With an objective of making youth aware of mental health especially in this catastrophic phenomenon of Covid pandemic, ISM Patna organised a E-panel discussion on Youth and Mental Happiness on the eve of International Youth Day on the 12th August, 2021.
Eminent international repute resource persons of this discussion Simmy Rohilla, Assistant Professor, Department of Behavioural Sciences, SGT University, Gurgaon, Dr. Vinod Kumar Sharma, Clinical Psychologist, Director, Mental Health Counselling Centre, Univ. Department of Psychology, SKMU, Dumka, Dr. Richa Priyamvada, Sr. Clinical Psychologist, Department of Psychiatrist, CMCH, Bhopal, Preetee Arpita, Clinical Psychologist, Gurgaon, imparted their knowledge and expertise on Anxiety in Youth: Cause and ways to combat; Depression among youth ways of solution, Strategies to cope up with depression and loneliness in youth, Sleep disorder and its relevance to the youth. The participants were benefitted a lot with their lucid deliberations on usual psychological problems of Anxiety, Stress, Depression, Sleeplessness, their symptoms and remedies. Ms. Simmy Rohilla’s techniques like keep calm and use your coping skills, relaxation and nature therapy were very beneficial to combat youth anxiety. At the same time Dr. Richa’s advices to overcome phobias concerned with examination, stage, interview etc. were found to be of great help to the students at any steps of their career. Mrs. Preetee Arpita’s quote ‘The best bridge between despair and hope is a good night’s sleep’ summed up her comprehensive deliberation on all the perspectives of Healthy sleep and Sound mind of youth specially in the age of IT dominated life style. Such an elaborative metal health awareness event convened by Assistant Professor Mrs Raj Sinha was conducted into two sessions. The first session was moderated by Assistant Professor, Dr. Sweta and the second one by Mrs Raj Sinha.
